Top 10 famous people you didn’t realise appeared in that TV show/Film

  1. Rami Malek – Twilight Breaking Dawn

Rami Malek is easily one of the most talented actors of our generation. It takes guts to take on such a massive role like Freddie Mercury and do it justice. His portrayal of the iconic star won him an Oscar in 2019 after such an unbelievable performance. If you re-watch the Live Aid scene in Bohemian Rhapsody and compare to the actual concert, it is more or less spot on. That is why he got the Oscar!

But did you know before his success, he was a vampire in the Twilight Saga? He played the role of Benjamin, one of the members of the Egyptian coven. He was part of the epic fight scene in Breaking Dawn Part 2. Who knew that a vampire would soon grow up to be Freddie Mercury? I didn’t!

2.  Andrew Garfield – Doctor Who

We all know this man as the person to play the Amazing Spider-Man. But before he was shooting webs and preventing evil in New York City he was captured by pig slaves in an episode of Doctor Who.

Andrew Garfield played the role of Frank, one of the workers in Hooverville who volunteered to clear a collapsed tunnel in a sewer. After being captured he is later saved by the Doctor. Thankfully, Andrew’s American accent did improve before he landed his careering changing role as Spider-Man.

3. Emma Stone – iCarly

From one Spider-Man actor to another. Emma Stone is known for playing Gwen Stacy in The Amazing Spider-Man, alongside her then boyfriend, Andrew Garfield, and for her Oscar winning role as Mia Dolan in La La Land. But did you know that she actually guest starred in an episode of the hit Nickelodeon show iCarly?

Emma played Heather, a high energy super fan of iCarly. When Heather meets the iCarly gang, she cannot contain her excitement and immediately starts screaming and taking pictures with them. But the only person she was really interested in was Gibby. We all know that Emma is the ultimate fangirl as she is one of the biggest Spice Girl fans there is. So maybe she wasn’t acting in this scene?

4. Drake Bell – Jerry Maguire

While we are talking about Nickelodeon, did you know that Drake Bell, who played Drake Parker in Drake and Josh, was in the film Jerry Maguire with Tom Cruise?

Drake played the role of Jesse Remo, a young kid whose dad was injured after an accident while playing American football. Jesse tells Tom Cruise’s character “F* You” after Jerry Maguire was sarcastic to him. I certainly do not remember that episode of Drake and Josh!

5. Dianna Agron – Drake and Josh

As we are also on the topic of Drake and Josh, we come to Dianna Agron. Before we knew her as Quinn Fabray, tackling a teen pregnancy and singing endless Journey songs in Glee, Dianna Agron was one of Drake Parker’s many girlfriends.

If you’re a fan of Drake and Josh, you know that Drake wasn’t the smartest character, but neither was Dianna’s character Lexi. She asked Drake where Rome was, and he replied “Romania”. They were perfect for each other when you think about, they were both as stupid as each other. But their date didn’t end well when a magician made her disappear. She ended up in a glass box full of popcorn. I think that was the end of their relationship.

6. Max George – Glee

Glee was known for its great songs and actors, like Dianna Agron, but it also had some amazing guest stars, from Britney Spears to Gwyneth Paltrow, but do you remember when Max George guest starred?

Max is not known for this role in Glee because he was one of the five members of the British boyband The Wanted. Remember them? They had nine top ten singles and two number ones. They were successful in the UK and USA.

But when he was on Glee, he played the role of Clint, the new leader of Vocal Adrenaline. His character only has two interests, winning and bullying. His ‘winning is everything’ attitude, at one point, actually got him kicked out of the group. I think it’s safe to say that his character wasn’t the nicest.

7. Billy Zane – Back to the Future

Most people will know Billy Zane as the wealthy and obnoxious fiancé of Rose in Titanic, but in 1985 he played the role of Match, one of Biff Tannen’s friends and gang members in Back to the Future 1 and 2.

Most people were scared by Biff, but without his gang he wasn’t so brave. In 1955, Match is seen alongside the other gang members, 3-D and Skinhead as they were about to jump Marty on stage. They were the last ones to laugh though. They got crushed by sand bags falling on top of them.

8. Tom F Wilson – Zoey 101

Talking of Back to the Future baddies and being part of Biff’s gang, who better than Biff himself. Yes, Tom F Wilson wasn’t always playing the bad guy. He was actually cast as the coach in another Nickelodeon show, Zoey 101.

I think Billy Zane may have had the better agent after Back to the Future. Zoey 101 isn’t quite Titanic, is it? But nonetheless, he did play the role of Coach Phelps in the episode Disc Golf.

There were some Back to the Future references in the episode too. One of the characters in the show, Quinn, sprayed her potato chips with plutonium, which is the main energy source for the time machine. Also the name Butthead was mentioned in the episode, which is exactly what Biff would always call other people. Nice touch!

9. Cole Sprouse – Friends

Whether you know Cole Sprouse from The Suite Life, Riverdale, or something else, only real fans will remember him as Ben Geller, the son of Ross and Carol from Friends.

Ben was raised by his mother Carol and her lesbian partner, Susan, so Ross only get to babysit him on special occasions. One of those special occasions was in the episode ‘The One with the Holiday Armadillo’. Even though Ross is Jewish, Ben wants to celebrate Christmas instead of Hanukkah, which disappoints Ross, and well, this happens…

10. Maggie Wheeler – The Parent Trap

Oh my god! Can you believe it there is another Friends character on this list and have you guessed it? It’s of course Janice!

While Maggie Wheeler was screaming “Oh my god!” everywhere she went, she was also hanging out with two Lindsay Lohan’s.

She played the role of Marva Kulp Jr., Marva Sr.’s daughter and assistant at Camp Walden in The Parent Trap. But her most memorial scene from the film was when Hallie and her friends tried to prank Annie. Marva and her mother got in the way though. It all goes horribly wrong, and she sends them to the isolation cabin.
